New lebanon teacher of the year
Paula Gallaher
Paula Gallaher gets to know each 1st grade student individually and embraces their learning styles, their personalities, and adapts her instruction accordingly. She takes the time to find what works for each student and works every day to build them up and truly allow them to be confident in their learning. She does not expect students to conform to the curriculum, she adapts the curriculum to her students. She celebrates the smallest victories with as much excitement and enthusiasm as the large victories. Every student is pushed to do their personal best and is encouraged every step of the way. The kids are excited to come to school and always run into the classroom ready to give her a hug. She maintains amazing relationships that she has with her students and she creates a family at school for her students.
SUPPOrT STAFF MEMBER of the year
Tammy Hale
Tammy Hale gives the word “support” a whole new definition. When it comes to helping others, within her job description or not, whether she has experience on a similar task or not, she is always willing to contribute. No matter how long her own “to-do” list is, she is always ready to drop what she is doing to make sure the needs of a student, parent, or staff member are addressed.
To top it off, her support always comes with a smile and a desire to make the day of the person she is supporting. Mrs. Hale helps to make Dixie Middle School a great place to learn and teach.
