Band

The Dixie Band program involves students from 5th through 12th grades. Beginning in the 7th/8th grade Wind Ensemble, students begin to travel and participate in adjudicated events. These rotate between Music in the Parks and OMEA adjudicated events. Starting in high school, students participate annually in OMEA Large Group as well as Solo and Ensemble adjudicated events. The high school band regularly qualifies for the state level event.

The Dixie Band program takes pride in experiencing performance arts on as many levels as possible. This includes an annual trip to a major University to participate in a clinic session with the music faculty. Past appearances include University of Cincinnati CCM, The Ohio State University, the University of Akron, and Miami University. During these trips the band also experiences major symphony orchestras, musicals, plays, and museums.

The 5th grade band, 6th grade band, Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band all perform at least three concerts each year. The high school Symphonic Band also performs annually on Veteran’s Day for the Dayton VA Medical Center as well as the New Lebanon VFW on Memorial Day.

Our marching band thrills the football crowds every year with high energy shows. These range from 50's rock and funk, to Motown and John Williams’s movie music. Students also perform for the opening of the Montgomery County Fair and participate in the Preble County Pork Festival Parade

The Pep Band performs at five boys and five girls basketball games each season. As well as community events, pep rallies, and other exciting events.
