Paul was a three year starter for the Dixie High School Basketball Team in the 1930’s.  His team won the Montgomery County League and the Montgomery County Tournament in 1933.  One of his proudest moments came in the tournament finals as Dixie defeated Brookville 36-19 and he scored 19 of Dixie’s points.  It is estimated that he had approximately 350 points in his career.  Paul also played baseball for Dixie.  

Down through the years Paul was an avid supporter of Dixie Athletics, with involvement in many projects including the construction of the football field.
