The basketball season of 1957-1958 opened a historical era for Dixie Basketball. This was the first team in the proud tradition of Dixie Athletics to make an appearance at the State Tournament. The team under the direction of legendary coach, Columbus Hines, compiled a record of 26-1 with that only loss being in the state semi finals to Northwestern High School. During that historic season, the team earned the honors of Montgomery County League Champions, Montgomery County Tournament Champions, District Champions, Regional Champions, and Class A State Semi Finalists. The team is being honored as the newest members of the Dixie Athletic Hall of Fame. The coach, team members, managers, and cheerleaders are all being honored for their accomplishments during this historic season. They will be receiving a certificate along with a team photo magnet, and a Life Time Pass to all Dixie Athletic events. Furthermore they are the first members to be presented with the new plaque honoring our Hall of Fame members. The team was coached by Columbus Hines.
