New Lebanon Schools will move to hybrid model beginning November 30th

I wish to thank all of the staff members and community members who came to the board meeting and shared their perspectives this evening.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was decided that Dixie Schools will return to the hybrid model we used during quarter 1 to finish the first semester due to the health advisory from Montgomery County Public Health and the difficulties inherent with quarantines at school.

The hybrid model will allow students opportunities to engage in preferred in-person learning for two days a week, offers more stability in weekly attendance and allows for greater social distancing at school at a time when case rates are rising.  Because of greater social distancing, the need to quarantine students will be less frequent.

The hybrid model will begin when we return from Thanksgiving Holiday on November 30th--all in-person students should attend school on Monday (11/23) and Tuesday (11/24) of next week if not ill or on quarantine.

We anticipate that the hybrid model will have the same overall structure and procedures as were in place at the end of 1st quarter.  As each building has different needs, there will need to be specific planning to communicate and distribute resources so that instruction can continue as soon as possible after the break.
As always, I appreciate the support of all our families as we make difficult decisions to cope with the impact of the health emergency.

Please look for specific information from your child's school on Monday of next week to help you prepare for November 30th.

Hybrid learning will be in place until the end of the semester and will be re-evaluated at that time based on health conditions.
