New Lebanon Revised Reopening Plan 7.15.20

We are continuing to  closely monitor current health conditions in our area and the guidance provided by governmental and health authorities.  Additional guidance from the Montgomery County Department of Health and an increase in cases in Montgomery County have prompted some changes in the initial reopening plan. The revised plan is available by selecting the link below.

Although guidance from the State of Ohio strongly recommends facial coverings for grades three through twelve, the plan has been revised to require a facial covering in some situations and gives an option for a facial covering or a face shield in most routine settings at school.

We recognize that a wide diversity of strong opinions have been expressed about facial coverings.  The feedback that we have received from a strong majority in our community is that we would like to have students in school.  Wearing a facial covering gives our schools a much better chance of staying open once students are back in school.  More importantly, it greatly reduces the chance of the spread of the virus should someone become infected and then come to school.

We encourage parents to help their children become accustomed to facial coverings as appropriate during the weeks leading up to the beginning of the school year.

We greatly appreciate the understanding of parents and students as we work through the difficult decisions necessary to open school during the pandemic.

For those parents who would like to request remote learning for their child(ren), the request form is available at this link:  Request should be made by July 31, 2020.

With a little more than a month until school starts, please be aware that this plan is likely to be revised again.
